- BARREL NUT: Free-float barrel nut system (externally threaded alloy aluminum barrel nut and a steel jam nut).
- THREADS: Standard Yankee Hill thread count.
- TORQUE: 35-40 ft-lbs recommended (as with any standard aluminum barrel nut). A small spot of Moly Lube is also recommended, but not required.
- LENGTHS: Measured from tip of end cap to end of jam nut (i.e. fully-installed length). Note: The listed lengths (i.e. 7″, 9″, 12″, 15″) of the Blade refer to the long side of the handguard. The shorter side is always 1.15” shorter than that for all blade handguards.
- AR-10 BARREL NUT INSTALLATION: The large piece of the nut with the gas tube hole in it goes with the flat side towards the upper receiver, and the side with the smooth recess goes towards the muzzle. It does not need to bottom out against the upper. The inner ring – the piece that looks like a bicycle gear -needs to be tightened against the barrel extension collar. While this ring does need to make contact with the barrel collar, it should not be bottomed out against the barrel nut body.

Pretty impressed with this. Sturdy, looks great, and it assembles with ease. I have this over my BSF Carbon .223 Wylde Barrel. Its a thick .936″ so with the gas block just barely rubs on the handguard. Not sure if that’s going to be an issue later down the road but I hope its fine. It looks great though. Wish I could attach photos. Extremely glad I went with this guard. Only thing I was disappointed with is the shipping. It was supposed to be 2 day but they use USPS which is the least reliable option possible. So I received it after 7 days instead.
